About Us

The Tea Workshop is a Chicago-based "Tea Infrastructure and Experience" company. Founded in 2023 in response to the closure of countless tea businesses due to post-Covid lease increases and other challenges, we've set out on a mission to change the tea industry. The Workshop focuses on real world tea spaces ranging from tea bars and cafes to tea community spaces.

Our mission goes beyond simply making tea as a commodity accessible in retail; we're here to build an entire ecosystem where the tea industry and its stakeholders can thrive. By providing access to consumer education, tea-based third spaces, capital, financing systems, and blue-sky funding for innovative tea concepts, we're laying the groundwork for a resilient future for tea in North America. The Tea Workshop serves as a pipeline and base for innovation and growth, paving the way for a brighter tomorrow.

Our experiential live tea events serve as a safe space and educational onboarding ramp for North Americans who are unfamiliar with tea culture. It also exposes people from many different backgrounds to each other in a very communal way.

The Tea Workshop also strives to create systems of equity and economic opportunity for tea professionals and facilitators across North America. It is time for the tea industry to separate its fortune from the landlord lease model of the past decades that has led to so many passionate people losing their opportunity with little warning or respect.

As an infrastructure company, it is a core effort of ours to be a friend and partner to those leading small and medium growing tea providers who care and push for the spirit and soul of tea. Those that tell the story of the farmers, of the people, and of the regions are those closest to the real-world situations and those who should dictate the future. We support those who fight for equity, dignity, and global human connection. We aim to use infrastructure and capital to give others a microphone.
