Asper Mori Black
Asper Mori Black
This black tea is truly one of a kind.
First, it hails from Japan, a country primarily known for its green teas. But this isn’t just any black tea. Unlike traditional puerh or other black teas, it undergoes a unique fermentation process in a clean room, triggered by a single Aspergillus Awamori spore released into the controlled space. This semi-fermentation gives the tea its extraordinary flavor profile—think roasted grains, sweet vanilla, dried fruits, and malt.
Harvested from gardens near the Haruno Mountains in Shizuoka, Japan, this tea offers a completely unique tasting experience. This tea was named after the single Aspergillus Awamori spore released into the controlled space leading to its semi-fermentation. Asper Mori.
