This Chinese red tea from the team over at VolitionTea is one of the greats. It came on our radar back in 2023 when The Workshop held its first Summer Sessions. Red Jade has these amazing sweet potato and molasses notes that are super accessible, as such we infused the tea into a "Red Jade Old Fashion"! One of the world's most accessible red teas - a real hug in a cup for a traditional tea.
On a technical note, The producer in Guadong used a cultivar, "Cultivated Varietal", normal used to produce oolongs and let the leaves oxidize 100% into a red/black tea!
