Bancha is a wonderful green tea, which is harvested in late summer. It has a more rounded and robust flavor than the delicate first pickings and contains more catechins thanks to the extra sunlight it receives. If you have not had Bancha it is 100% worth the try.
We would describe it as a slightly more relaxed and mellow version of sencha - The difference between a teenager and 30 year old.
